The DeLorean's engine relies on a vacuum system to operate properly. Vacuum leaks (damaged or disconnected vacuum lines that allow outside air to compromise the vacuum) can result in a poorly running engine with reduced performance and fuel economy.
Routing Diagrams[]
Diagrams of how the vacuum hoses are routed can be found in the Delorean manuals, online, and in the car itself.
- On the inside of the lower engine compartment cover. See the page A:08:05 of the DeLorean Workshop Manual, or page 0-1-3 of the DeLorean Parts Manual, or the image to the right, for how to identify the diagram.
- Page 0-1-3 of the DeLorean Parts Manual has a small version of the diagram.

Routing[]
For the most part, routing involves following the engine routing diagram.

- What I'd like to see here is pictures of the components with links to articles about them, and a description of where the hard-to-find connections are and how to access them. - Jangell 05:45, 3 March 2008 (MST)
