The DeLorean uses the Bosch K-Jet mechanical fuel injection system.

Auto-Solve has a good overview of the K-Jet system, which covers everything from the fuel tank through the fuel accumulator and filter to the fuel distributor, the warm-up regulator and the injectors. Although the auxiliary air valve isn't in the DeLorean, the remaining parts are, making this a good overview of how the DeLorean's fuel system operates, what components are used, and how they generally function.
