The DeLorean's engine relies on a vacuum system to operate properly. Vacuum leaks (damaged or disconnected vacuum lines that allow outside air to compromise the vacuum) can result in a poorly running engine with reduced performance and fuel economy.

Diagrams of how the vacuum hoses are routed can be found in the Delorean manuals, online, and in the car itself.

For the most part, routing involves following the engine routing diagram.

What I'd like to see here is pictures of the components with links to articles about them, and a description of where the hard-to-find connections are and how to access them. - Jangell 05:45, 3 March 2008 (MST)
